CHICAGO - Business furniture manufacturer Allsteel Inc. co-sponsored NeoCon's opening keynote speaker yesterday: Richard M. Daley, former mayor of the host city, Chicago. The International Association of Interior Designers teamed with Allsteel to underwrite the opening.
Widely regarded as a progressive city manager, Daley held office longer than any of his predecessors. Since retirong last year, he speak internationally on sustainable urban development and works with global leaders on city planning issues.
With 700 business furnishings exhibitors occupying some 1 million square feet, NeoCon runs through June 13, with 40,000 attendees are expected.
Early reports show Neocon continues as a vibrant event for professionals involved in interior design and furnishings. Woodworking Network will post reports from Neocon over the next week.
