Cabinet manufacturer Masco says it has decided to dispose of Tvilum, its Danish ready-to-assemble furniture and cabinetry business acquired in 2000. It did $250 million in revenue in 2012.

Tvilum manufactures flat-packed furniture and cabinets at its four factories, which produce 8 million items of furniture annually. Managed in Faarvang, Denmark, Tvilum was founded in 1965; a 60 percent interest was acquired from the family owners by Axcel Industriinvestor in 1996.

Tvilum currently produces flat-packed furniture for all areas of the home. It also began selling products from other manufacturers in 2011, to be able to offer customers a complete range of lounge and dining room furnishings.
