WASHINGTON, DC - The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association delivered three Chairman Awards at the ProDealer Industry Summit last week in Savannah, GA. Honored were:
• 2008 NLBMDA Chairman Harold Baalmann of B&B Lumber Company in Wichita, KS, for work on the American Lumber Standard Committee over the past year during contentious discussions on Southern Pine design values;
• Carlos Guilherme of Weyerhaeuser Corp. , Federal Way, WA, for chairing the MSC council; and
• The Oklahoma Lumbermen's Association for efforts to promote reform of the EPA Lead Rule.
The ProDealer Industry Summit is a three-day educational and networking forum to promote the growth of lumber and building product dealers, distributors, wholesalers, and manufacturers who supply them.
Founded in 1917, the NLBMDA has over 6,000 members operating lumber yards and component plants supplying homebuilders, subcontractors, general contractors, and consumers in new construction, repair and remodeling of residential and light commercial structures.
