CARTHAGE, MO - Leggett & Platt announced promotions and contract extensions of two company executives and the impending election of a third.

Leggett & Platt Execs Promoted, Sign 4-Year DealsKarl Glassman was promoted to president of Leggett & Platt, a designer and manufacturer of engineered components for homes, offices and automobiles. Glassman, who joined the company in 1982, also will retain his position as COO, a title he has held since 2006.

Matthew Flanigan was promoted to executive vice president and will retain his role as CFO. He has served in various management capacities with Leggett & Platt since 1997.

In addition, Leggett & Platt announced that it "anticipates election" of David Haffner as the new chairman of the company's board of directors this May. Haffner, who is expected to succeed Richard Fisher as chairman of the board, will continue to serve as CEO, a position he has held since 2006.

Fisher, who first joined the board in 1972 and became chairman in 2008, has been recommended as vice chair and lead director of the board.

Haffner, Glassman, and Flanigan each executed renewed employment agreements with the company that expire in May 2017.

Leggett & Platt is a 130-year-old firm with 18,000 employees and 130 manufacturing plants in 17 countries.
