SILER CITY, NC - Residential and contract furniture maker Lazar Industries announced plans to add 30,000 square feet to its upholstered furniture plant in North Carolina.
The Los Angeles, CA-based company is seeking grant monies from the city of Siler City and the state of North Carolina to expand the current 95,000-square-foot facility, according to a state rural business development agency. The expansion would be accompanied by the creation of 40 new jobs. Siler City has submitted a grant proposal to the North Carolina state development agency that will meet April 18 to review and decide.
Lazar also operates an 90,000-square-foot facility in California. Lazar Contract, a division of Lazar Industries, manufactures for the hospitality and the healthcare markets, both domestically produced seating and custom capabilities.
