TAYLORSVILLE, NC - Solid wood furniture manufacturer Kincaid Furniture marked 1 million continuous hours without loss time due to an accident or injury at its Taylorsville, NC, facility.
“The safety of our employees is of the utmost importance at all of our manufacturing facilities,” company President Steve Kincaid said in a statement. “We take pride in the quality of our furniture, but safety comes first.”
As part Kincaid's safety program, Plant Manager Stephen Little, Safety Director Stephanie St. Pierre and other leaders hold regular safety meetings and offer education to all employees. The company noted that safety education topics include everything from machinery-related safety to environmental safety regulations.
“We haven’t had a lost-time accident since April 2007,” said St. Pierre. “It takes a substantial amount of training and focus to reach this milestone, and I’m proud of our employees’ dedication to safety.”
The Taylorsville plant has been part of Kincaid since 2000 and employs 82 workers. Leaders from Kincaid and Kapnick Insurance Group were in attendance to help employees commemorate the milestone.
Founded in 1946, Kincaid Furniture Co. is part of La-Z-Boy Inc.’s family of companies.
