JASPER, IN - Kimball International Inc.'s furniture segment posted net ncome of $760,000 in its third quarter on net sales of $125.1 million.

This small profit for the company's Q3 ended March 31 improved upon a loss of $2.6 million on net sales of $119.4 million that Kimball's furniture segment experienced for the same period a year earlier.

Taking into account its electornics segment, Kimball reported a net profit of $7.2 million on net sales of $310.8 million for Q3.

Kimball noted that its consolidated selling and administrative expenses in the third quarter of fiscal year 2014 increased 4% in absolute dollars compared to the prior year primarily due to higher incentive compensation costs and higher salary and employee benefit costs.
