Kewaunee Posts Record Sales Gains for Lab FurnitureSTATESVILLE, NC - Kewaunee Scientific Corp., a manufacturer of laboratory furniture, reported record sales of $31,185,000 for the second quarter ended Oct. 31, up 20% from the same period a year ago. Both domestic and international sales saw increases.

Domestic sales for the quarter were $25,684,000, up 8% from last year. The company reports demand for privately-funded projects were relatively strong compared to publicly-funded projects, which remained well below pre-recession levels.

International sales for the quarter were $5,502,000, up 157% from the second quarter last year. Expanding markets for laboratory equipment in Asia and Middle East attributed to much of the growth.

Kewaunee Scientific's sales for the six months also saw increases. Overall sales grew 11%, to $57,868,000, for the six months ending Oct. 31. Domestic sales rose 2% to $48,312,000, and international sales jumped 89% to $9,556,000, compared to the same period last year.
