GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Kentwood Office Furniture has acquired Brys Industries, a manufacturer of engineered wood products and components. Brys will change its name to KOF Wood Solutions.
Terms of the purchase agreement, announced January 9, were not provided. According to the statement, KOF Wood Solutions will continue manufacturing from its current Grand Rapids location.
"Product choice, flexible service and very affordable pricing continue to be key components in providing great spaces for our customers,” Art Hasse, president and CEO of Kentwood Office Furniture said in a statement. "Bringing the production of a key component of our remanufactured office systems solutions in-house gives us the infrastructure necessary to continue to meet, and exceed, these expectations.”
This marks the fourth time in the past 18 months that the contract furniture company has made news. Last year KOF transitioned the company to an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) and expanded its core remanufactured systems offering. In September 2012 the Grand Rapids-based company opened a regional office in Indianapolis, IN.
In addition to producing remanufactured furniture, KOF is a HON Diamond Showcase dealer and offers products from Allsteel, Trendway, Kimball, Mayline, National and Global.
