As KBIS and IBS 2015 open in Las Vegas, the two shows - one for home interiors, the other for home construction - are certain to draw big crowds. With the housing market continuing its recovery, along with a robust home remodeling market and steady employment growth, U.S. consumers are expected to offer business for the construction and remodeling industry into 2017.
The year's event features, along with the co-location of the NAHB International Builders’ Show and NKBA’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, a broader umbrella - Design & Construction Week - which includes three partner events: the International Window Coverings Expo, The International Surface Event and the Las Vegas Market, for home décor & furnishings. More than 125,000 building industry professionals from around the globe are expected to attend. Two big names missing from this year's are Masco's Merillat and Elkay's cabinet divisions, though Masco will be represented by a new line in vanities - Ryvyr.
The show becomes a trigger point for cabinetry and wood component and products manufacturers to launch new product lines and market initiative. Cabinetry manufacturer Huntwood Industries, for example, will reveal at the show the launch of a Door & Millwork Division. The Liberty Lake, WA kitchen cabinet maker will also show two full-sized kitchens — one framed, the other frameless.
Here are some advance announcements, with more to come.
