La-Z-Boy Sales Up 10 Percent to $349 Million; Net Rises 14%

La-Z-Boy, Jeld-Wen Top Wood Industry ReportsNeoCon 2012, the contract furniture and casegoods trade show in Chicago, topped the news last week, with new furniture lines and business ventures by 700 business furniture exhibitors at the one million square foot exposition.

Plywood and panel pricing is on the rise, evidenced by a pricing surcharge for nailed wooden reels from Sonoco, it's second hike resulting from rising lumber and panel prices.

La-Z-Boy's earnings surged on China dumping tariffs, and Jeld-Wen's acquisition of wood door and trim moulding firm CraftMaster Manufacturing's multiple factories was the most viewed report this week.
