WASHINGTON - Irwin Industrial Tool Company of Huntersville, NC, issued the voluntary recall of approximately 55,260 Classic Series Circular Saw Blade 3-Packs due to a problem with the product's packaging.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the saw blades can fall out of the bottom of the plastic packaging, posing a laceration hazard. Irwin has received three reports of saw blades falling out of the packaging, none of which resulted in injury.
The Irwin Classice Series 10-inch Circular Saw Blade limited promotion 3-Packs include one 10-inch trim and finish saw blade with 60 teeth and two general purpose saw blades, each with 40 teeth. Made in China, they sold at Lowe's stores nationwide between October and November 2011 for $40.
Consumers are urged to contact Irwin for a free storage container to hold the saw blades.
