WACO, TX -Imperial Woodworks, Inc. in Waco, TX, has commissioned special clamping solution last month for laminating curved panels up to 24' long for use in various parts of radial church pews. The system, built by Doucet, greatly reduces labor previously required in producing the panels.

Imperial Woodwork's Ryan Back worked with Doucet's Mark Sitz, regional sales manager, and Erich Mazurek of Maze Machinery LLC to develop the special solution for this application. In July of 2012, Doucet distributor introduced us to a new customer,

Doucet says the project posed the need for new designs including:
• Special pivoting rocker plates
• Extended clamp length
• Redesigned frame assembly and clamp mounting

Doucet engineers also had to ensure that the clamps could manage a minimum radius of 20 feet across a 20 foot length without a separate top arch insert.

In January 2013, the new SRX system was delivered and installed at Imperial Woodworks, Inc. Technology developed for the project as a special solution for long curved panel clamping is now available to other customers as well, says Doucet.
