RICHMOND, VA - IKEA's Swedwood wood furnishings manufacturing subsidiary will soon have a new local supplier in Danville, VA. Axxor Group, a Netherlands-based company that designs, produces, and sells honeycomb made from paper and water-based glues, used in lightweight wood panels, will invest $4.96 million to establish its first U.S. operation, Axxor N.A., in Pittsylvania County.

Axxor, based in Netherlands, will supply Swedwood from the Ringgold East Industrial Park, producing the honeycomb wood panel core. The project will create 31 new jobs. Virginia and North Carolina both competed for the project. Axxor N.A. is currently based in Crestwood, KY.
