IKEA Tops Major Cabinet Brands in Survey
IKEA Plans 25 Stores In India

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA - IKEA ranked highest in consumer satisfaction for kitchen cabinet purchases, according to a survey from JD Power and Associates, but ahead of well known cabinet companies American Woodmark, Thomasville, Merillat, KraftMaid Cabinetry and American Classics.

IKEA has topped the list for the first time since the study was launched five years ago, earning 776 points out of 1,000. Following IKEA in the rankings are American Woodmark (767) and Thomasville (763), Merillat (760), KraftMaid Cabinetry (758) and RSI's American Classics(702).

The home furnishings manufacturer and retailer was helped by high scores in three of the five factors measured: ordering and delivery, price, and warranty. The study measures customer satisfaction with kitchen cabinets using five factors:
• design features (such as the variety of cabinet colors/finishes and range of sizes and shapes available);
• ordering and delivery (including ease of ordering, condition of products at delivery and timeliness of delivery);
• price;
• operational performance (including smoothness of drawer slides and sturdiness of cabinet joinery); and
• warranty.

Additionally, the study also found that nearly 33 percent of customers prefer purchasing their cabinet through a retailer where in-store product displays, sales staff recommendations as well as the retailer's website are a contributing factor.
