Hi-Def Wood Finish Simulator DebutsWEST LORNE, ON - A wood finish simulator that projects high definition wood grains and colorants on 3D wooden furniture designs, has been developed by ICA, the Italian manufacturer and marketer of special coatings for wood.

ICA first demonstrated its Wood Look technology at SICAM, the wood industry trade show held in Italy in October 2012.

Based in Civitanova Marche, Italy, with North American headquarters in West Lorne, ON, ICA says the new software program does virtual finishing of wood showing high-definition ICA colors and effects.

Wood Look is described by ICA as a real-time configurator  designed  to project its colors and effects directly onto 3D design images, meant to be used by furniture producers in their design applications. "The client can view and select the color of its own products in a highly realistic way, more instantaneously than ever before," says ICA.

ICA says Wood Look will allow furniture makers to see the final result of the application of a coating without producing a prototype. It also can be used by architects and interior designers to see realistic renderings of colors, effects and combinations.
