Herman Miller wins minority supplier award
Herman Miller retains spot on 'Most Admired' list

ZEELAND, MI — Herman Miller Inc. has been named "Corporation of the Year" in the commercial products section by the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC).This was the fifth time the office and health care furniture giant has received the award since 2005

"We are honored to be recognized for our commitment to creating an inclusive supply chain," Kim Coffman, senior manager of supplier diversity at Herman Miller said in a statement. "Herman Miller strives to create a better world through all aspects of our business. Working with diverse suppliers, and the support of the MMSDC, brings us closer to that goal."

MMSDC announced the award at 28th annual awards dinner held Oct. 5, 2011. Herman Miller's fiscal 2011 direct spending with minority and women-owned businesses exceeded $100 million, or 16.4% of its total purchasing.
