WASHINGTON - Hammary Furniture of High Point, NC, has issued a voluntary recall for approximately 165 wood frame dining side chairs because they pose a fall hazard.
The Abaca and Wood Dining Side Chairs were manufactured for Hammary in the Philippines.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the connections between the legs and frame of the chairs can flex, posing a fall hazard. Hammary received two reports of the legs flexing. No inuries were reported in either incidence.
The recalled chairs feature a square seat and back, dark wood frame with a brown woven abaca back and an upholstered white seat. The chairs sold at La-Z-Boy Galleries and other furniture stores for about $300 per chair.
Consumers are encouraged to contact their local furniture retailer for a replacement chair of comparable value or a full refund.
