GLENVILLE, NY - Solid Surface Craftsman, Inc. says it will hire 10 employees by the end of April, to fulfill new contracts for delivering custom vanity countertops.

The Glenville, NY countertop operation, along with sister firms Christopher Millworks and A.J. Boulant Construction, is the exclusive fabricator for Home Depot and Lowe's in the Albany, NY area, and also supplying a network of kitchen and bath dealers.

Owner Alan Boulant told the Albany Business Review his firm signed a dealer contract extending vanity countertops into three states: Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, a deal expected to yield $1 million in new sales.

Boulant says the new contracts and added personnel - for both installation and manufacturing - will bring 2012 sales up to $11 million, the highest for his three companies producing countertops and cabinets for commercial and residential customers. Employment will approach 100 at the three firms.Ca
