COLUMBUS, OH - Fortune Brands Windows & Doors, which includes Therma-Tru Corp., Simonton Windows and Fypon, added 470 new jobs in 2013. The new jobs come after a 12% increase in sales of door, window and trim products for new construction, as well as repair and remodel markets, with operating profits more than tripling to $15.8 million, in 2013. Fortune Brands Windows & Doors is a sister company to Jasper, IN-based MasterBrand Cabinets Inc.

“Our growth allowed us to fill 470 positions to support the increase in business,” said Mark Savan, president of Fortune Brands Home & Security’s windows and doors business unit.

The company is optimistic for the overall home products market in 2014 as well, with demand for new construction surpassing supply in numerous U.S. markets and developers preparing for substantial growth in 2014. The repair and remodel market, 65 percent of the company's overall mix, is also expected to continue increasing into 2014, especially in bigger ticket semi-custom and custom cabinets and replacement windows.
