VERO BEACH, FL — Former Sligh Furniture President and CEO Robert Lewis "Bob" Sligh passed away May 21. He was 84 years old.

According to his obituary, Sligh was a lifelong resident of Holland, MI, with a winter residence in Florida. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and served as an intelligence officer in the Air Force for two years prior to joining Sligh Furniture in 1954. He became president of the residential furniture company in 1968. In 1990 he stepped down as president and later retired as CEO in 1993.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lois Sligh; children Rob Sligh, John Sligh and Barb Sligh Donati; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His son Rob is the current president of Sligh Furniture, a division of Lexington Home Brands.
