Fire Shuts Down Blue Ridge Panel LENOIR, NC -- Blue Ridge Panel's particleboard manufacturing operations are temporarily out of commission for at least a couple of days due to a fire at the mill on Friday, October 28.

The fire apparently ignited after a truckload of wood and sawdust used to make particleboard was dumped into a staging area. The fire spread into a conveyor entering the plant, forcing operations to be shut down, according to WSOC.

In addition to industrial particleboard, Blue Ridge Panel makes manufactured home decking.
