Fire Kills Six at Mexican Furniture FactoryMONTERREY, MEXICO — Officials are still investigating the cause of a fire that killed six workers and injured 44 others at the Famsa furniture manufacturing headquarters on Wednesday.

According to Mexican news sources, the fire destroyed the fourth floor of the building. An estimated 300 employees will be temporarily relocated to another facility.

In addition to its furniture manufacturing operations, Famsa Group provides banking and credit services. It has 359 retail stores throughout Mexico and approximately 50 in five U.S. states. Founded in 1970, the company's core business units are Famsa Mexico, Famsa USA and Banco Ahorro Famsa.
