Akhurst, Scm, Taurus Craco and Normand to Exhibit at WMS 2013TORONTO – Woodworking machinery suppliers Akhurst Machinery, Normand, Scm Group Canada and Taurus Craco have each recently joined an expanding exhibit base for the 2013 Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo (WMS), Oct. 24-26 at the International Centre.

Submission of signed exhibit contracts from these four companies, all members of the Canadian Woodworking Machinery Distributors Assn. (CWMDA), comes fresh on the heels of commitments by the Canadian branches of major international hardware suppliers, including Blum, Grass, Hettich, Richelieu and Salice.

The Supply Hall (Hall 4) is virtually sold out and space is rapidly dwindling in Hall 5, especially when taking into account space being reserved pending receipt of contracts from several woodworking machinery manufacturers and distributors.

Akhurst Machinery, based in Delta, BC, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. The family-owned company also operates showrooms in Edmonton, AB, Mississauga, ON, Longueuil, QC and Dieppe, NB. The company also

Headquartered in St. Nicholas, QC, Normand also operates showrooms in Cambridge, ON (new as of last fall); Laval, QC; and Sherbrooke, QC. The 58-year-old company’s product line runs the gamut from enthusiast and small-shop professional to industrial woodworking operations.

Scm Group is one of the largest manufacturers of woodworking machinery in the world. Scm Canada recently relocated its Ontario office to a new location in Mississauga. The company will have a major presence at LIGNA Hannover, which opens on Monday, May 6.

Taurus Craco of Mississauga, ON, also is a full-line supplier of woodworking equipment and supplies. Among its product lines, Taurus Craco is the exclusive Ontario representative of Weinig and Holz-Her, two of the world’s best know manufacturers of solid wood and panel processing equipment respectively.

WMS will feature Canada’s largest exhibition of woodworking machinery, software, hardware, components and other products. More than 5,000 woodworking professionals, including those involved in the manufacture of furniture, cabinet and millwork are expected to attend the show.

In addition, the 2013 edition of WMS will include a conference program focusing on business and technical topics for wood products managers and owners, plus special demonstrations on the expo floor.

The International Centre is located a short drive from Pearson International Airport and includes thousands of free parking spaces. Hotels are plentiful and the allure of downtown Toronto is within a short commute after WMS show hours.
