POTOMAC FALLS, VA — The Architectural Woodwork Institute Quality Certification Corp. announced the promotion of Wayne Hintz to Quality Certification Program (QCP) Director. Also promoted was Ashley Goodin to Inspections Manager. Both promotions are effective Sept. 1.
Hintz has more than 25 years of experience in the woodworking industry. He joined the QCP as a Q-representative in July of 2005, and took on the role of Inspections Manager in September of 2009. In his new position as QCP Program Director, Hintz will oversee all aspects of the QCP, including accreditation of woodworking firms, certification of QCP projects and the management and training of all Q-representatives.
Goodin is also a former Q-representative and recently served as QCC Compliance Auditor, working alongside Hintz to review inspection reports and answer technical questions. In his new role as Inspections Manager, Goodin will be responsible for the entire project inspection process, including the review and approval of inspection reports submitted by Q-representatives.
“Due to recent efforts to expand the product offerings of the Quality Certification Corporation (QCC), there arose a need for someone to oversee our core product, the QCP,” AWI QCC Executive Vice President Craig Elias said in a statement. “Wayne is the perfect choice because of his vast knowledge of the industry, the QCP and the AWI Standards,” Elias said. “I look forward to working with both Wayne and Ashley in their new roles,” Elias added.
Established in 1995, the QCP verifies compliance with industry standards and the project specifications, giving design professionals an increased level of quality assurance in custom interior architectural woodwork. The AWI Quality Certification Corporation, an independent 501-c-6 corporation, administers the QCP.
