ATLANTA -- A total of 43,192 buyers and attendees participated at the International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply Fair held Aug. 23-26 at the Georgia World Congress Center. That represents a 3% increase over IWF 2004, according to show management.
The increase reverses a trend which saw attendance dip from a record 47,119 in 2000 to a post-9/11 crowd of 42,753 in 2002 and 42,040 in 2004. Meanwhile, IWF 2006 established new records for the number of exhibitors, 1,383, and display space, 851,520 net square feet.
The vast majority of exhibitors that Wood & Wood Products and Custom Woodworking Business editors spoke with at IWF 2006 indicated they were pleased with the quality of visitors who came to their booths. Each of the publications will feature a post-show report on IWF in October.
