3rd Dollars & Sense of Going Green Conference planned for March 2011

The third “Dollars & Sense of Going Green” conference is being organized by the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University and Wood & Wood Products.

The two-day educational program will be held March 17-18, 2011 at the Marriott East in Indianapolis.

The American Home Furnishings Alliance, Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers Inc., Architectural Woodwork Institute, Hardwood Tree & Improvement Center, National Hardwood Lumber Assn. and Wood Component Manufacturers Assn. have signed on as Cooperating Associations of the event. Additional cooperative industry organizations are expected to follow.

The third “Green” conference will address a variety of important industry issues, including:
    • FSC and SFI update and group certification; 
    • The Lacey Act;
    • Update on CARB and EPA federal formaldehyde rules; and
    • Case studies on best ‘green’ practices in the wood industry.

In addition, the program will include a Networking Reception with tabletop displays.
