180 Losing Jobs at Bright Wood

MADRAS, OR — For the second time in just more than a year, Bright Wood Corp., a secondary lumber remanufacturer, has laid off more than 10% of its work force, according to the Bend Bulletin.

Approximately 180 out of 1,130 employees, working mainly in manufacturing and administrative positions, will be let go. The company attributes the cuts to the soft housing market. The remanufacturing company makes a range of wood components, including door frames and window casings. Read more.
