SEATTLE - Windstar Cruises, which plans to spend $18 million refurbishing its fleet of three luxury vacation sailing yachts, released plans showing new furniture, lighting, flooring and ceilings - with wood a dominant treatment.

"The design palette combines sand and marine colors contrasting elegantly with the warmth of wood finishes," the company said in releasing the designs.

All three yachts will be completely refurbished by December 2012, with staterooms and suites getting new furnishings.

Some of the yachts' public spaces will replace carpeting with hard flooring accented with inset rugs, a contemporary mix of furniture, lighter color palette and improved sound insulation around the casino. The Restaurant will get state-of-the art wine display and storage.
