National Office Furniture marks sustainability achievementsJASPER, IN — National Office Furniture, a brand unit of Kimball Intl Inc., announced that its Dallas showroom has attained LEED Gold and its Escalade casegoods has also earned BIFMA level 3 certification for sustainability.

The showroom, located in the Dallas Decorative Center, is the office furniture manufacturer’s sixth LEED-certified facility.

National Office Furniture partnered with PageSoutherlandPage for design services, MEP, structural and LEED project management in earning the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED-CI Gold. In addition to using low emitting materials and those with a high recycled content, the company said efficient lighting decreased energy use 53 percent below the standard and it estimates a 35 percent reduction in water use through the use of low flow water fixtures.

National Office Furniture marks sustainability achievementsNational Office Furniture also announced its Escalade casegoods now feature the company’s proprietary water-based UV finish, IntegraClear, enabling the series to achieve SCS Indoor Advantage certification for meeting strict indoor air quality criteria. The series has also been awarded ANSI/BIFMA level 3 certification which can contribute toward LEED points. All of National Office’s company-manufactured products are certified either level 2 or 3.
