SAUK RAPIDS, MN - Universal Forest Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: UFPI) will acquire Custom Caseworks, Inc., a commercial woodworking manufacturer located in Sauk Rapids, MN.

Founded in 1994, Custom Caseworks makes point-of-purchase and commercial store fixtures, commercial casework and commercial office furniture, laminated wood panels, MDF powder coated painted products using a unique manufacturing line, and OEM-manufactured and private label wood products. The sale is expected to close by December, 31, 2012.

Universal Forest Products says the addition of Custom Caseworks furthers its strategic objective to expand into value-added product lines for the industrial market. 

Universal Forest Products says it borrowed $75 million from Prudential Investment Managemento refinance $40 million of existing notes, and for expansionary capital, including the acquisition of Custom Caseworks and the November 2012 acquisition of Nepa Pallets.
