Woodworkers Honored by Local Police Department BROOMFIELD, CO - Two woodworkers received honors for their handmade contributions to their local police department in Broomfield, Colorado, according the Broomfield Enterprise.

Tom Bloomfield and Joe Weibel from the Broomfield Senior Center wood shop were given citizen's commendation awards for building three display cases for the Broomfield Police Department.

The custom made display cases showcase items from the Department's history.

Workers at the Broomfield Senior Center don't get paid in cash and only accept donations. In addition to their work with the police department, Bloomfield said he and Weibel also have hand-built election cabinets for the city and have donated furniture items to raise money for Broomfield's Meals on Wheels program.
