The Woodworking Shop Expanding Into 39,000 Square Foot Plant

MIAMISBURG, OH - The Woodworking Shop LLC, Monroe, OH, will acquire a 39,000 square foot building in Miamisburg and relocate from its existing 7,500 square foot shop.

The Dayton Business Journal reports that the commercial cabinetry and millwork firm expects to move into the building, a former machine shop from the  about 20 minutes from its existing site, later this year. Founder Mark Sams told the paper, "We're out of space where we are, and we'll be able to grow."

Its clients include Holiday Inn, Fairfield Inn and Kroger. The Woodworking Shop also has a heatthy business in lockers rooms.Right now the company has 10 employees, and could increase that number to 15.

The Woodworking Shop was founded in 2001 by  Sams. In the years since his son, Ryan, has joined as production supervisor. The business has grown from a small shop on the family farm to a modern 7,500 square foot facility and now will move to even larger quarters.

It's new location, the Mound Business Center, is in a reclaimed nuclear production site, part of the Manhattan Project for building components for the atomic bomb. Built in 1947, it is being reclaimed and reused following government grants for clean-up and rebuilding.
