MEDINA, MN - Woodworking supplies retailer Rockler Cos. is expanding its test of new, larger format retail stores.

Of the 29 company-owned Rockler Woodworking and Hardware stores in 19 states, Rockler has grown its store site in Maplewood, MN to 11,000 square feet, and in Seattle to 9,000 square feet, about double the size of the company's typical store. Both those stores incorporate a large, state-of-the-art, glass-enclosed demonstration area.

“With both of these new flagship stores, we’ll be able to better reach out and help every level of customer, from the expert woodworker to the new DIYer,” says Ann Rockler Jackson, President and CEO of Rockler Woodworking and Hardware.

Rockler says its research indicates customers want more of an experience in its stores.

“With both of these new flagship stores, we’ll be able to better reach out and help every level of customer, from the expert woodworker to the new DIYer.”

Rockler says it will open its third superstore in suburban Atlanta in August, corresponding to the IWF 2014 International Woodworking Fair.
