Oak? Cherry? Walnut? What's Your Favorite U.S. Hardwood?

Earlier this year, Wood Products asked wood component manufacturing specialists to name their favorite wood. We got some interesting responses in the process. Some of the component makers named imported woods like Amboyna burl and rubberwood. Others said they favored domestic woods such as western walnut and eastern white pine.

For the purpose of this Woodworking Network poll, we are limiting the scope of respondents’ favorites to the most-used domestic hardwoods, namely:

Cherry Mahogany Maple Red or White Oak Walnut

Which is your favorite U.S. hardwood? Feel free to vote “other” and name it in the comment section if it’s not on the list. We encourage everyone to comment on what you love most about your favorite domestic hardwood.

After casting your vote, you can view the most current poll results.
