HIGH POINT, NC -- The latest furniture manufacturers industry report from Smith Leonard accounting firm, based in High Point, NC, reveals a jump in furniture factory orders and shipments in October 2013.

Oct. 2013 factory orders were up 5% over Oct. 2012 numbers. Also, furniture factory shipments saw an even higher year-over-year increase posting a 9% hike for Oct. 2013 and backlogs were up 11% over the same period in 2012.

Overall, factory orders and shipments remained higher than the previous year with new orders up 6% year-to-date and shipments up 5% year-to-date.
