LOS ANGELES - The C1 Credenza, designed by Marcus Friesl of Los Angeles-based mf Design Group and manufactured in Canada, was awarded Gold in the A' Design Award and Competitions.

The C1 credenza is Friesl's first stand-alone furniture piece. Key to the credenza's design and construction is the use of a thin folded metal shell to support both upper and lower drawers. This support is combined with an embedded structural system in the drawer units allowing the piece to span the full 7 feet without intermediate support. The net effect is that the top appears to float inn space.

The mf Design Group describes the net effect as a "technically precise modern form, embodied with warmth and character."

The C1 credenza will be available this summer in custom wood and metal finishes. The credenza can also be sized to the client's specific needs.
