DENVER, CO - Connor Wood Bikes partnered with Louisville Slugger to build a custom wood bike from its American white ash wood baseball bat billets,  the lumber blanks from which bats are turned.

Named the "Louisville Slugger Bat Bike," the custom cycle will be shown at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS) to be held March 6-8 in Louisville, KY.

The bike frame was crafted completely from ash bat billets. Additional features wood handlebars with bat tape and a customized bike seat made from Louisville Slugger's baseball mit leather. The bike frame was factory branded with Louisville's logo and spray finished.

After the NAHBS show, the bike will have a permanent home in the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory.

Connor Wood Bicycles was started in 2012 by Chris Connor who has also built furniture professionally and he worked with his brother, Steve Connor, for a period of time building custom, classical guitars. Conner's bikes are manufactured with sustainable hardwoods -- white ash and black walnut -- and the synthetic fiber, Kevlar.
