UNION, NJ -Canary Closets & Cabinetry says it will switch from directly serving residential consumers to selling wholesale-only wood products production of closets, cabinets, and components.

To manage the business change, the company has adopted Allmoxy, a cloud-based computer software systems that manages its entire business operation. The Allmoxy application, developed by Ogden, UT-based operation with the same name, is a web-based woodworking enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that manages e-commerce, business accounting, bids and order entry, exporting files from customer input, and converting them to files that drive production machinery.

"We stumbled into Allmoxy at IWF in Atlanta last year and immediately knew it was the answer for streamlining our business," John Canary said in a phone interview.

"Boy was I right!" said Canary, sounding almost like a canned presentation during the interview. "Not only is Allmoxy easy, it is inexpensive. And the people running the business are absolute gems." He word with developers Bo Lewis and Brady Lewis at the firm.

Canary says he is shifting Canary Closets & Cabinetry's business model to wholesale, and e-commerce is critical to the transition.

“We are moving from consumer, to business-to-business," Canary says. "We are expecting to grow by leaps and bounds."

He had retained a developer to create software so clients could order online, intending to capture specs from customers to create cut-lists and drive manufacturing equipment. 

After two months of development, Canary discovered Allmoxy, and ended his internal software development program. "We scrapped it because of Allmoxy," Canary says, because the application includes a turn-key e-commerce module.

“Our customers go on the site and place their order or request for a bid. When we get it, we have output that we can send right to our machine," Canary says. "The data that we get from our order entry site is used in the manufacturing. The bottom line is there is no reorder entry."

According to Canary, "My business is growing because of Allmoxy and we are working with fewer people. This is every bit as big an improvement as adding a CNC and edgebander."

His 15-employee operation is well-equipped, operating a Holzma HPP 380 panel saw, a Homage edgebander, a Busellato point-to-point CNC, and a Weeke BHX 055 machining center." Also in the mix is a Gannemat downserter, and a newly acquired OMAL miter machine, and a Stiles cutoff saw with a TigerStop system.

Currently, Canary Closets & Cabinets is focusing on its closets business for e-commerce, because it could be readily transitioned to the system. Cabinetmaking will soon follow.

In cabinetry, Canary is switching to Cabinet Vision for production from its current application, because it is able to import code from Allmoxy.

“I am more excited about Allmoxy than any piece of equipment," says Canary. “We’re unstoppable."
