DALLAS -- Storage and home organization retailer, The Container Store, launched and contributed $100,000 to a fund aimed at providing assistance for employees in need.

The Employee First Fund, which will also accept donations from employees and stockholders, will give grants to The Container Store employees experiencing financially difficulties from unforeseen emergencies, a major medical situation, are suffering from a catastrophic event or facing other challenges in life which they are not financially prepared to handle.

The Container Store, with 63 locations across the country, went public last year. It has more than 10,000 products and offers free closet design services for its Elfa brand of shelving and drawer system.
