LAVAL, QC - Kaycan Ltd. says it has closed on its acquisition of Uniboard Canada.

Kaycan, which employs 1,200, entered into an all cash for shares deal with Uniboard's parent company Pfleiderer Canada Inc. on September 5.

The Uniboard facilities sold to Kaycan include three particleboard lines, one MDF line, five  thermofused melamine lines, a resin plant and two laminate flooring lines. The operations serve markets in the U.S. Northeast and Midwest, and in Canada.
