Wood Component Maker Art For Everyday Buys Acanthus Industries TORONTO  – Art For Everyday Inc., one of North America’s leading manufacturers of architectural woodcarvings, says it has acquired Acanthus Industries Inc.,  a company also specializing in the manufacturing of architectural woodcarvings.

Art For Everyday says the acquisition will bring it more manufacturing capacity and flexibility.  CEO Manoo Mahmoodi says the company is now going to expand to obtain a larger share in Canada and U.S. markets.

“The combination of Acanthus Industries Inc. and our expertise that focuses on quality and customer service will provide a greater benefit for our existing and new clients,” Mahmoodi says.

Acanthus Industries Incorporated will for the time being continue to operate as a separate entity with operations relocated to Art For Everyday’s location in Toronto. Mahmoodi also becomes president and CEO of Acanthus.

“This acquisition will add new products to our offerings and is also expected to result in greater efficiencies,” he noted.

Acanthus had been part of door and moulding manufacturer Doorland Group, Woodbridge, ON. According to its website it had 120 employees, creating corbels, components, and decorative pieces in maple, cherry, and alder, as well as walnut, mahogany, white and red oak.
