Metabo Corp. introduces the STA 18 LTX cordless jig saw, part of the company's Power Master Series of 18 V lithium-ion cordless power tools. Features include a low-lying saw blade support roller for exact blade guidance, a 4-stage adjustable orbital blade stroke and positive bevel cutting stops at 15 degrees, 30 degrees and 45 degrees and a tool-less blade change system. The saw can cut more than 98 feet of chipboard with a single battery pack charge and can cut a maximum thickness of 5- 5/16" wood and 1 3/8" in non-ferrous metals. Variospeed electronics produce up to 2,700 strokes per minute and saw design includes a protective guard and anti-splinter insert to prevent chipping when working on brittle materials such as laminate countertops, says the company, plus an ergonomically designed rubber-coated full grip bow-type handle for user comfort, adjustable blower and an integrated LED work light. Applications include wood construction and cabinetry fitting.
