Northwest Hardwoods' brand Western Alder has the visual appeal of cherry, maple and other more expensive, fine-grained species and is good for cabinetry, furniture and millwork. It accepts a wide variety of stains, has excellent machining properties, comes in thicknesses from 4/4 to 12/4, lengths up to 12 feet and is certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) standard.
