CNC Machining Center for Upholstery Frames

Thermwood introduces the FrameBuilder 53 series, a heavy duty three-axis CNC machining center, developed for the machining of upholstery frames and other sheet goods that require rollers on each side of the spindle to hold various materials typically not held by vacuum while machining.  The redesigned FB53 is equipped with rack and pinion for both the X and Y Axes, bigger drives, and a redesigned gantry that is stiffer while allowing more options, adds Thermwod.  The changes represent an over 110% increase in speed from the original, says the company. The Framebuilder is a Roller Hold-Down machine that uses 4 rollers to keep the material tight against the table while machining.  This moving gantry/stationary table CNC Router has a full working envelope with various table sizes up to 20’ in length.  The FB53 is designed using advanced 3D software utilizing Finite Element Analysis and is inspected and calibrated utilizing a precision 3D volumetric laser system, says the company.  All major welds including the base and gantry are stress relieved. Standard configuration for the Framebuilder 53 is an 18Hp spindle, solid aluminum table and Thermwood’s QCore Super Control. Additional options include dual heads with programmable head spacing, automatic tool changers and automatic load/unload.
