Michelman has introduced Michem Wood Release 1117A, a mold release agent used in the production of pMDI based oriented strand board and linear strand lumber. Michem Wood Release 1117A provides a low COF coating creating release of the wood fiber from the press plate, resulting in a lighter colored board with reduced buildup. Operating with this product virtually eliminates process slip issues resulting in improved productivity, says the company, and Michem Wood Release 1117A exhibits minimal nasal irritation compared to other soap based products. Michem Wood Release 1117A is dilutable with water and can be applied by spraying over the fiber mat, board caul or press plate, adds the company.
