Michem Wood Release 2137 from Michelman is a mold release agent used in the production of particleboard that uses pMDI as the adhesive. Michem Wood Release 2137 produces a low COF interaction that allows wood to release cleanly from the press platen while producing a lighter colored board with little to no buildup, says the company. Other benefits to users, according to Michelman, include the low application rate and little to no nasal irritation. The product is easily dilutable with water and is applied by spraying over the fiber mat, adds the company. The product provides memory but resists transfer from the wood fiber to the process, which helps eliminate slip issues, says Michelman.
