Compact Circular Saw

Rockwell offers a Compact Circular Saw, which the company says is capable of cutting a 2x4 in a single pass. The compact circular saw with a 4-1/2 inch blade is up to half way lighter than a full-size 7-1/4 inch circular saw. The saw’s left-handed blade design also offer great cut-line visibility, Rockwell says. The Compact Circular Saw weighs 5 pounds, and its slim, inline grip design provides comfort, balance and control. The saw’s 4-1/2 inch thin kerf blade is less than half the thickness of 7-1/4 inch circular saw blades. The smaller, thinner blade take less effort and motor strain to cut through materials, the company says. The 5 amp, 3500 rpm saw can match the performance of full-size circular saws, Rockwell adds. The compact circular saw’s metal retractable lower blade guard is the same as those found on traditional circular saws.  The saw also includes a depth-of-cut adjustment lever for quick and accurate blade height setups up to 2 inches.  The saw’s maximum cutting depth at 90 degrees is 1-11/16 inch and its bevel capacity at 45 degrees is 1-1/8 inch.
