Woodworking Industry in Spotlight in Presidential Campaign
One Goal: To Be the Best in Business

Wood products companies are again in the spotlight as the candidates hit the campaign trail in the race for president of the United States. Keeping jobs in America is critical to our nation's economy, and the woodworking industry is an important part of the process.

This factor was highlighted just this past weekend, as presidential candidate Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, the vice presidential pick, made a campaign stop yesterday at High Point, NC-based Absolute Style Furniture, a small domestic seating manufacturer founded in 2006. While there is no word yet on whether wood products companies are among the stops on President Barack Obama’s campaign trail, North Carolina-based Lincolnton Furniture Co. had been previously spotlighted by President Obama, and its CEO Bruce Cochrane was part of a forum in January as part of initiatives to support U.S. insourcing.
