Woodworking Shows: Best Deals, Education & Product Ideas
Once Bitten, Twice Shy

Woodworking Shows: Best Deals, Education & Product IdeasIf you have read my blogs and articles, you know that I am a strong advocate for attending trade shows. I think the best deals, education and new product ideas can be found at these shows. I especially like smaller regional shows because the attendees get time to talk to the exhibitors and even the small custom shops can be included.

The Central Illinois Woodworking Expo is this week in Arthur, IL, on Friday and Saturday. As small regional shows go, this is one of the best. Arthur, IL, holds dozens of woodworking shops and the CIWE show draws crowds from all around the area. The local woodworking focus also brings in dozens of vendors that you would normally only see at IWF or AWFS.

CIWE holds seminars throughout the day on Friday to help educate the attendees. I will be holding a seminar on Friday at 1 p.m. titled "Building Word of Mouth Business." This seminar is free thanks to the sponsorship of Century Components.

The show goes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The woodworking equipment auction is on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. It will be held at the Otto Center 2058 Cty Rd. 1800 East, Arthur, IL.

Good Hunting,

Rick
